Abstract

We have studied the fractal behavior in classical (MD) trajectories of liquid N2 and in continuous random walks using the "box counting method". For liquid N2, analysis of trajectories extending over a time of 60 ps gives a fractal dimen- sion D = 1.67, which is similar to previously results for liquid Ar. We find that for a continuous random walk with a com- parably small number of mean-free-path lengths the fractal dimension also falls below the theoretical value of two.
