A Structured Approach to Molecular Assembly

In this work we aim to design compounds with a specific binding orientations which lead to functional architectures. Metallated porphyrin molecules are used as the central building blocks, which can select for classes of ligands based on the metals employed. The binding interactions are probed using UV/Vis and NMR spectroscopies. The resulting supramolecular interactions have been studied in the solution state, and at the solid-liquid interface.
